Most home and organizing content is aspirational. It shows you a finished room and skips the part where you had to decide what to do with four years of accumulated stuff, in a flat you don’t own, in the ninety minutes you had free on a Tuesday.

LifestyleRoot is the other half of that. We write the boring, specific part — the order to work in, the decision rule that stops you stalling, what to do with the things you can’t decide about.

What we cover

Right now we publish in one area, Home & Living, across three sections. We’d rather cover one subject thoroughly than eight of them shallowly.

  • Declutter & Organize — room-by-room guides, decluttering methods compared, and the habits that stop clutter rebuilding.
  • Minimalist Decor — what to do with a room once the clutter is gone, on a budget that assumes you’re renting.
  • Small Space Living — storage, layout and routines for homes where floor space is the constraint.

More sections will follow, but only once each one has enough real, tested guides to be worth reading.

How we decide what to publish

Every guide has to pass three tests before it goes up:

  1. Can you do it this week? If the advice needs a free weekend, a contractor, or permission from a landlord, it isn’t the advice most people need.
  2. Does it work with what you own? We’ll recommend buying something when buying something genuinely solves the problem. Most of the time it doesn’t — it just relocates the clutter into a nicer box.
  3. Has someone actually done it? If a method takes three weeks, we say three weeks because that’s how long it took, not because three weeks sounded about right.

When we get it wrong

We correct articles rather than quietly deleting them. A corrected guide carries a note saying what changed and when. If something we published didn’t work in your home, tell us on the contact page — that’s genuinely the most useful email we get.
